The Woodcutter

"Four persons are credited for Simon’s artwork: Paul Drummond(Lead Artist) and his sister Maria, Karen Pinchin and Jef Wall. According to the latter, all the art was drawn on paper first and then scanned into the computer to be colored up using Animator Pro, a good all-round package at the time the game was made that was used for the animations as well. According to Wall, it was drawing pixel by pixel most of the time and everything had to be saved on floppy disk bit by bit."

About Me

It was 1994 when I played Simon The Sorcerer for the first time. Being my first year in college, I was not that much older than Simon himself. After crossing the main gates of the citadel I was immediately hooked by the gorgeous forest and the perfect match with the game music. This game would become my favorite of all times. Seventeen years later in 2011, I came up with the idea of stitching some of these images into single, panoramic ones, revealing the artists' full vision for each location. You can finally appreciate the entire composition, the sense of scale, and the clever details hidden at the edges of the screen during normal gameplay. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. - RodCastler
